NHS 111 service - your call
The NHS 111 service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Locally, there are more than 10,000 calls to NHS 111 every single week - clearly it is a key part of the NHS in this area, and we all need it to work as effectively as it possibly can. The phone service is vital not only in terms of providing advice and support for people with urgent, but not life-threatening, health concerns, but it also plays a central role in managing demands on other parts of the local health service - especially A&E, and GP surgeries.
Within the next few months the local NHS must seek to award a new contract for the running of the NHS 111 service, and we are thinking ahead for the next five years.
